2019 America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins

Marking the tenth year for the US Mint’s America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin™ Program will be the 2019 America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins. These strikes are each composed of five ounces of .999 fine silver and contain reverse designs emblematic of selected sites of national interest found throughout the United States and its territories.

The US Mint will strike five different coins as part of this silver bullion coin series in 2019, just like it had done in all of the previous years since the program debuted in 2010. This release rate was dictated by the legislation that authorized them which became Public Law 110-456 (America’s Beautiful National Parks Quarter Dollar Coin Act of 2008).

As can be inferred from the name of the authorizing law, a series of quarter dollars was also created by the Act. In fact, these quarters serve as the base program for all of the America the Beautiful related programs including these bullion strikes. Accordingly, the bullion coins contain both obverse and reverse designs originally created for the quarters including an obverse portrait of George Washington.

The United States Mint produces these bullion coins for investors as a means for them to add small amounts of the precious metal to their portfolios. However, in knowing that many collectors will also be interested in purchasing them, the US Mint created a numismatic version of the bullion strikes known as the 2019 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins.

2019 Lowell 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins

The Lowell Silver Coins will mark the first release in 2019 of the US Mint’s America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coin Program. These strikes will honor Lowell National Historical Park of Massachusetts with a reverse design emblematic of the location.

Lowell National Historical Park was created on June 5, 1978 and recalls the important contributions of the area in textile manufacturing during the American Industrial Revolution. The park includes approximately 141 acres and offers many sites from the 19th century, some restored and some not.

2019 American Memorial Park 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins

The forty-seventh strike to appear in the bullion series will be the 2019 American Memorial Park Silver Coins. Shown on the reverse of these will be a design emblematic of American Memorial Park found in the United States territory of Northern Mariana Islands.

This park was established on August 18, 1978 and serves as a living memorial to those who made sacrifices during the Marianas Campaign of World War II. To that end, a museum at the park is joined by facilities offering activities such as swimming, biking, baseball, tennis, etc.

2019 War in the Pacific 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins

The third coin to appear in the silver bullion program will be the 2019 War in the Pacific Silver Coins. Each of these coins will contain a reverse design showcasing a portion of the War in the Pacific National Historical Park found in the United States territory of Guam.

Congress created the national historical park on August 18, 1978 with a different purpose – to honor all of those who participated in the Pacific Theater of World War II – allies and enemies alike. This includes those who participated from the United States, Japan, Soviet Union, France, Great Britain, etc.

2019 San Antonio Missions 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins

Appearing as the forty-ninth coin in the program will be the 2019 San Antonio Missions Silver Coins. These strikes will honor San Antonio Missions National Historical Park found in the United States city of San Antonio, Texas.

This historical park was created on April 1, 1983 to preserve four of the five Spanish missions built in the area in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. These four missions include Mission Concepcion, Mission San Jose, Mission San Juan, and Mission Espada.

2019 Frank Church River of No Return 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins

The Frank Church River of No Return Silver Coins will mark the last strike to appear in 2019 and the fiftieth to be struck in the program overall. Shown on the reverse of these coins will be a design honoring Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness found in the state of Idaho.

Created by Congress on January 1, 1980, the wilderness takes its name from two separate entities – Frank Church was a US Senator instrumental in the protection of the area and the River of No Return is the nickname for the Salmon River which runs through it.

A separate site dedicated to these strikes can be found by clicking on 5 oz bullion coins.

These America the Beautiful 5 oz Silver Bullion Coins will not be sold directly to the public by the US Mint. Instead, the Mint uses a network of authorized purchasers for all of its bullion strikes which obtains the coins in bulk, then resells them in smaller lots to local coin and precious metal dealers for a small premium above the current spot price of the silver contained within them.
