The 2018 America the Beautiful Silver Uncirculated Coins will be struck by the US Mint as the numismatic versions of its 2018 America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins. As such, each of the five 2018 silver uncirculated coins will be struck from five ounces of .999 fine silver to a diameter of three inches with reverse designs emblematic of five sites of national interest found throughout the United States.
These coins are created as part of the Mint’s America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins series featuring similar designs and specifications to the America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin™ Program. Unlike those bullion coins, however, these uncirculated strikes are not minted for investors. They are, instead, produced by the US Mint solely for numismatic purposes.
Thus, each of these collector grade coins will feature an uncirculated finish typically much higher in detail than the bullion strikes. Also, a ‘P’ mintmark will be included on these uncirculated coins indicating they were produced at the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia. The related bullion coins are also struck in Philadelphia but contain no mintmark.
Finally, when released, this series of coins will be sold directly to the public by the US Mint. This differs from the bullion strikes which are sold through the Mint’s network of authorized purchasers.

This national lakeshore was officially established on October 15, 1966 and stretches for 42 miles along the coast of Lake Superior. The area takes its name from a 15-mile stretch of colorful sandstone cliffs found within the lakeshore that rise up to 200 feet above the lake level below.
2018 Apostle Islands 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins
The 2018 Apostle Islands Silver Uncirculated Coins will feature a reverse design honoring a portion of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore found in the state of Wisconsin. These strikes mark the forty-second in the series which will include a total of fifty-six when completed in 2021.
Established on September 26, 1970, Apostle Islands National Lakeshore consists of Lake Superior coastline and 21 nearby islands. 2018 Voyageurs 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins
Shown on the reverse of the Voyageurs Silver Uncirculated Coins will be a design honoring Voyageurs National Park found in the state of Minnesota. This strike will mark the third to appear in the series in 2018 with two scheduled to precede it and two scheduled to follow it that same year.
Voyageurs National Park was established on April 8, 1975 and is somewhat of a unique location in the national park system. That is because most of the land area found within the park is only accessible by boat.
