National Park Silver Uncirculated Coins

The 2020 National Park Silver Uncirculated Coins will be the fifty-first strike in the US Mint’s America the Beautiful Five Ounce Uncirculated Coin Program. These silver uncirculated coins will be be composed of five ounces of .999 fine silver with a diameter of three inches and feature a reverse design emblematic of the National Park of American Samoa found in the US territory of American Samoa.

This silver uncirculated coin will be considered the numismatic version of the National Park Silver Bullion Coin which will also be struck from five ounces of the precious metal. Both will feature obverse and reverse imagery originally created for the associated America the Beautiful Quarters Program.

In fact, both the numismatic grade and the bullion five ounce coin programs are struck to resemble those quarter dollars. The three series combined represent the America the Beautiful programs created by the US Mint.

When released, the United States Mint will sell these silver uncirculated coins directly to the public. This differs from the bullion strikes which will be sold through the Mint’s network of authorized purchasers and the quarter dollars which are typically struck for use in everyday commerce.

2020 National Park Silver Uncirculated Coin Values

Each 2020 National Park Silver Uncirculated Coin will only have a face value of twenty-five cents like the National Park Quarter Dollar is it struck to resemble. That face value will be dwarfed, however, by the strikes melt and numismatic values.

Since each of these are composed of five ounces of silver, they should have a melt value approximately equal to what that amount of precious metal would trade for on the open market. So, if it is going for $30 an ounce, these strikes would have a melt value of about $150 – five ounces times $30 an ounce equals $150.

Finally, since these coins are struck for collectors, they will have a numismatic value associated with them. This value generally increases based on the condition and rarity of the strike typically with slabbed highly-graded examples bringing the most.

Shown on the Coin Values Page will be the strikes melt and sales information once the coin has been released for sale by the US Mint.
