2020 Silver Sets

The 2020 Silver Sets produced by the US Mint that year will be representative of the circulating coins produced in 2020. However, all of the coins in the 2020 Silver Sets will be struck to proof quality at the US Mint’s facility in San Francisco and some of those strikes will be produced from 90% silver.

This gives each set an intrinsic melt value not seen in the normal circulating coins. That melt value is approximately equal to the current market price of the silver contained within the 2020 silver sets.

Both sets feature the five 2020 America the Beautiful Quarters continuing a series that debuted back in 2010. All five of the quarters are struck from silver and will be joined in the 2020 Silver Proof Set by a Roosevelt Dime and a Kennedy Half Dollar also produced from the precious metal. The remaining strikes in the silver proof set will be produced from clad.

2020 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set

The 2020 United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set™ will contain the five 2020 America the Beautiful Quarters, as mentioned before. However, this year may well mark the last for such a complete set to be issued by the US Mint. The original quarters program is scheduled to end in 2021 with only one strike unless it is continued through a decision made by the Treasury Secretary, or if Congress mandates a continuation. Also possible, Congress may authorize a new series of quarters which would start the next year.

The 2020 Quarters Silver Proof Set will include the following five coins:

• 2020-S National Park of American Samoa Quarter representing National Park of American Samoa
• 2020-S Weir Farm Quarter representing Weir Farm National Historic Site of Connecticut
• 2020-S Salt River Bay Quarter representing Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve of U.S. Virgin Islands
• 2020-S Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller Quarter representing Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park of Vermont
• 2020-S Tallgrass Prairie Quarter representing Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve of Kansas

A total of 0.904 ounces of silver is included in this set when all five coins are added together.

2020 Silver Proof Set

The 2020 United States Mint Silver Proof Set™ will be representative of all of the circulating coins produced by the US Mint that year. This includes the aforementioned silver quarter dollars as well as a Roosevelt Dime and a Kennedy Half Dollar, also produced from the precious metal. Additional strikes in the set will be struck from clad.

Also, this set may contain additional coins if Congress authorizes new circulating coins to be produced by the Mint in 2020.

The 2020 Silver Proof Set will include at least the following ten coins:
