2019 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set

The 2019 United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set™ will mark the tenth year in which the US Mint created such a set containing just 90% silver proof quality examples of the America the Beautiful Quarters® it issued that year.

This silver proof release will also mark the tenth year for the America the Beautiful Quarters Program in general which honors sites of national interest with reverse designs emblematic of those locations. the 2019 America the Beautiful Quarters scheduled to be included as part of the silver proof set include those honoring:

  • Lowell National Historical Park of Massachusetts
  • American Memorial Park of the Northern Mariana Islands
  • War in the Pacific National Historical Park of Guam
  • San Antonio Missions National Historical Park of Texas
  • Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness of Idaho

The quarters included as part of this set represent the forty-sixth through fiftieth in the series which debuted in 2010 and had five strikes scheduled annually to be released as part of it. The original America the Beautiful Quarters Program is scheduled to end in 2021 at which time a total of fifty-six locations will have been honored in the series with one strike representative of a location from each state, the District of Columbia and each of the five US Territories.

Whereas the typical America the Beautiful Quarter is struck from a clad composition and used for circulation, the coins included as part of this silver proof set are each struck from 90% silver. This gives each set an intrinsic melt value approximately equal to the current market price of the 0.904 total ounces of the precious metal found in the set. However, most are not concerned with the melt value of the set and obtain it solely for its numismatic interest.

All of the America the Beautiful Quarters feature the same obverse portrait of George Washington, the first President of the United States. The portrait was originally completed by John Flanagan for the 1932 circulating quarter dollar and has been in use on the coin in one form or another ever since.

The reverse design of each coin is emblematic of the site that is to be honored by the strike. More information on the coins included as part of the 2019 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set is offered below:
