American Memorial Park Silver Uncirculated Coins

The second 2019 release of the US Mint’s America the Beautiful Five Ounce Uncirculated Coin Program will be the 2019 American Memorial Park Silver Uncirculated Coins. Each of these strikes will honor American Memorial Park of the Northern Marianas Islands with a reverse design emblematic of the site and will be composed of five ounces of .999 fine silver with a diameter of three inches.

Coins in this silver uncirculated series are struck as the numismatic versions of the US Mint’s America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins™. Both feature designs originally created for the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program including obverse portraits of George Washington, the first President of the United States.

Where this numismatic series and the America the Beautiful Bullion Coins differ, however, is in their finish, the inclusion of a mintmark and their intended market. These collector grade coins feature an uncirculated finish, a ‘P’ mintmark indicating they were struck at the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia and are sold directly by the US Mint to collectors.

The bullion strikes only have a bullion finish which typically contains less detail than the uncirculated coins, have no mintmark and are sold through the US Mint’s network of authorized purchasers with investors in mind. They are offered as a means for those investors to add small amounts of the precious metal to their portfolios.

2019 American Memorial Park Silver Uncirculated Coin Values

Struck to resemble the American Memorial Park Quarter, these 2019 American Memorial Park Silver Uncirculated Coins only have a face value of twenty-five cents like those quarter dollars. This face value, however, is small compared to two other values linked to the coin.

First, each of these strikes are composed of five ounces of silver giving them an intrinsic melt value approximately equal to what five ounces of the precious metal would currently be trading for. Thus, if it is going for $30 an ounce, these coins would have a melt value of about $150 – five ounces times $30 an ounce equals $150.

Second, since the coins are struck for collectors, they will have a numismatic value associated with them. This numismatic value is the price a collector would be willing to pay to obtain the strike and typically increases based on condition and rarity.

The Mint Prices, Values & Sales Figures page will offer current melt values and sales information based on recent activity once the coins have been released for sale by the US Mint.
