2015 America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins

The 2015 America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins will feature five different silver bullion coins each struck from five ounces of .999 fine silver to a diameter of three inches. These coins are minted as part of the US Mint’s America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin™ Program and will mark the sixth year for the series which debuted in 2010.

Congress authorized the bullion coin series along with the circulating America the Beautiful Quarters® Program and dictated that both series of coins would contain the same basic obverse and reverse designs. The obverse of all of the strikes will contain a portrait of George Washington by John Flanagan with the reverses showcasing a design emblematic of a site of national interest from around the United States and its territories. In total, fifty-six new coins will be struck in each series by the end of the programs in 2021.

These bullion coins are intended for investors and as such will be sold through the Mint’s network of authorized purchasers. These purchasers obtain the coins in bulk, then resells them to coin and precious metal dealers for a small premium above the current spot price of the silver contained within them.

A third series of coins is also produced with basically the same specifications as these bullion coins, but are intended for collectors. These 2015 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins will be sold directly to the public by the US Mint.
