The 2010 United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set™ was released by the US Mint and contains five coins struck to proof quality from 90% silver. Those five coins represent the inaugural year releases of the US Mint’s America the Beautiful Quarters® Program.
Together, the five coins have a total silver composition of 0.904 ounces giving each set an intrinsic melt value approximately equal to that amount of silver on the market. While many consider the melt value of the set, most obtain them solely for the numismatic interest and value.
The five 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters® included in the set contain reverse designs emblematic of these locations:
- Hot Springs National Park of Arkansas
- Yellowstone National Park of Wyoming
- Yosemite National Park of California
- Grand Canyon National Park of Arizona
- Mount Hood National Forest of Oregon
These five coins represent the first through the fifth for the America the Beautiful series which is scheduled to include a total of fifty-six when it is completed in 2021. Additional strikes will appear in the series at a rate of five per year until the last issue is released in 2021.
Each of the coins in the set was struck at the US Mint’s facility in San Francisco. That fact is confirmed by the inclusion of a ‘S’ mintmark on each coin.
Additional information about each included strike is shown below:
